Ready to greet the team

Waiting for an aircraft, the Inspector General for the 932nd Airlift Wing, Lt. Col. Grace Chapin, along with 932nd Airlift Wing Interim Director of Inspector General-Inspections, Lt. Col. Julie Novy, and the commander of the wing, Col. Esteban Ramirez, all take a walk down the flight line Oct. 12, 2017, to receive the Air Force Reserve Command's visiting inspection team. Namesake aircraft launches into the grey

A C-40 aircraft (#50932) belonging to the 932nd Airlift Wing and Air Force Reserve Command, starts to retract its landing gear as soon as it takes off on a flight Oct 12, 2017, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. By retracting wheels quickly, the pilots are able to reduce drag on the plane upon liftoff. The 932nd Maintenance Group and 932nd Operations Group always team up to make the missions a success. Some days they start early before the sun comes up and some days they stay long after the sun goes down to ensure mission success. The reserve 73rd Airlift Squadron and active duty 54th Airlift Squadron are paired with the 932nd AW in a reverse associate relationship, providing pilots and flight attendants for DV missions aboard the 932nd AW's four C-40C aircraft. A special note regarding the 73rd Airlift Squadron history: The 73rd Airlift Squadron, the single Reserve flying squadron under the 932nd, traces its lineage back to World War II, having flown troop carrier missions in the European Theater from Operation Overlord through V-E Day. Out to the wild dark yonder

The plane was provided courtesy the 512th Airlift Wing from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. After taking off from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, the crew broke into smaller sections and talked about situations and then read through the Air Force Instructions covering medical issues. Several members played the part of patients (lying down) to test others on how they would respond to symptoms. The C-17 Globemaster III plane has a maximum payload capacity of 170,900 pounds and its maximum gross takeoff weight is 585,000 pounds. Reserve refines medical skills

Master Sgt. Aubrie Miskell motions the next group of 932nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS) members to move up and get in position for patient movement. The 932nd Airlift Wing worked improving and refining skills at the unit during the September Unit Training Assembly Sept. 10, 2017, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The 932nd Medical Squadron, Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron and Aeromedical Staging Squadron Airmen learned together on first aid skills and C-130 load checks, with observation from U.S. Transportation Command guests. Multiple patient loads of litters were utilized to move people from the woods near the reserve wing's headquarters building, safely on to waiting buses, and then out to the aeromedical crew at the C-130 simulator. The compact, highly-packed training was designed to lead people and execute any future medical missions. The project featured joint patient training with Army, Marines, and Navy personnel.
