Lt COLONEL AMY S. JOHANNSEN
Colonel Johannsen is the Commander, 932d Maintenance Group, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. As commander, she leads 212 Guard, Reserve, and civilian forces across 17 separate Air Fore Specialty Codes supporting maintenance functions on four C-40C aircraft on executive airlift missions.
Colonel Johannsen initially enlisted the Air Force in August of 1986 as an Aerospace Ground Equipment mechanic spending four years on active duty. Later, she transitioned into the U.S. Air Force Reserve at O’Hare International Airport Air Reserve Station, Illinois. After a Base Realignment and Closure, she transferred to the 182nd Maintenance Squadron in Peoria Air National Guard Base, Illinois and shortly transferred to 910th MXS at Youngstown ARS station and through the Deserving Airmen Program, she commissioned in February 2002 at the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson ANGB, Tennessee. After 36 years of service, she commanded at the flight, squadron, and group levels, at Youngstown Air Reserve Base, Ohio, Grissom ARB, Indiana, and with 914th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, New York. Prior to her current position, Colonel Johannsen was the Maintenance Group Trainee and Deputy Commander, 442nd Maintenance Group at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.
Colonel Johannsen has deployed on several Coronet Oaks to the Puerto Rico Air National Guard and Panama, deployed multiple times to Southwest Asia, Qatar Air Base in support of the GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM, FREEDOM’S SENTRY, and others. She was hand-selected to be on a tanker task force, a Total Force Integration team with diverse AF Specialty Codes with Brig. Gen. General Fountaine from 2015 to 2016.
