COLONEL JEFFREY A. SMITH

Colonel Jeffrey A. Smith is the commander of the 932d Airlift Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command Wing, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping over 1,100 mission-ready Citizen Airmen supporting national interests worldwide. His responsibilities include providing first-class, safe and reliable C-40C airlift for our nation’s senior political, military leaders and their staffs; global aeromedical evacuation and rapid maintenance response capability; deliver logistics readiness, supply, and personnel support; provide tactical, deployed, expeditionary and AFRC medical care; and Mercy Hospital System training affiliation agreement integration.

Colonel Smith was commissioned in May 2000 from Fayetteville State University’s Air Force ROTC program. After completing pilot training, he served in a wide variety of positions to include recently deploying to Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait as Director of Intelligence, Operations, and Plans. In addition, he has served as Deputy Command Center Director at NORAD/USNORTHCOM, Headquarters Chief of Joint Manpower, and Air Expert for NATO operations in Afghanistan. Prior to his current assignment, he was Director of Safety, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base.

Colonel Smith is a command pilot with over 2,400 hours in the C-130E/H/J, C-17A, TC-12, T-44A, & T-37.
