Firefighters train as a team

932nd Airlift Wing firefighters trained on core special skills particular to their unique jobs May 21, 2017, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. In preparation for their fellow firefighters to enter a smoke-filled building with fire and heat, while searching for a simulated patient, these 932nd Civil Engineering Squadron members checked the hose system to ensure proper water pressure and availability of the precious resource, in case it was needed to help put out jumping flames. Firefighters train through intense heat

932nd Civil Engineering Squadron firefighters worked many additional hours beyond the normal drill weekend, concentrating in core job training on a special training weekend, upgrading their critical skills. Commander makes final JROTC visit

Commander of the 932nd Airlift Wing, Col. Jonathan Philebaum, shares a moment of reflection and appreciation with Col. Randall Lanning, commander and instructor at the Mascoutah High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Both colonels are retiring in the next couple of weeks. Col. Philebaum retires on June 3, and he spoke to the high school students about his career, overcoming adversity, and service to others and the Air Force during an early morning visit, as part of their roll call JROTC meeting. Col. Lanning is retiring this month as the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the group of cadets near Scott Air Force Base, and he has worked continuously with many projects involving both units. The 932nd AW formally "adopted" the Mascoutah detachment in April, 2010. This visit on May 10, 2017, marked the final joint outreach project between the two commanders. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lt. Boehning retires from military

Commander of the 932nd Operations Group at the 932nd Airlift Wing, Lt. Col. Ray Smith, presents Lt. Col. Stephanie Boehning with a special coin recognizing her military years of service to the unit and the nation. She enjoyed the surprise retirement party put on by her fellow wing staff members on May 18, 2017 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Tech. Sgt. Phillip Robbins, is a flight attendant for the 932nd Airlift Wing, flying the blue, white and gold C-40C aircraft at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.. He helps distinguished visitors with loading their heavy luggage ahead of the trip, and spends many hours ahead of each trip to plan each leg of the journey. He additionally prepares meals during the flights.
