Firefighters train on core skills

932nd Airlift Wing firefighters trained on core special skills particular to their jobs on May 21, 2017, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Airman Rachel Robert sprays water from the nozzle of he water hose connected to a fire truck behind her, in preparation for her fellow firefighters to enter a smoke-filled building while searching for a simulated patient. She ran this check on the system to ensure proper water pressure and availability of the resource in case it was needed to help put out a fire. In the background, other 932nd Civil Engineering Squadron members suit up to take their turns and get the hot, dark, challenging experience. The 932nd Airlift Wing is part of 22nd Air Force, an Air Force Reserve Command unit located near Belleville, Illinois, and citizen airmen come to participate from 37 states.
