932nd Airlift Wing has new First Sergeant in security

The new 932nd Airlift Wing's 932nd Security Forces Flight, First Sergeant was named recently, and that Airman is Master Sgt. Kimberly Hurt. Hurt, spent time prior as both a 932nd Maintenance Group member and 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron member. She took time out to visit the headquarter building July 8, 2018, at the Illinois-based Air Force Reserve Command unit, located at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. As a First Sergeant, Hurt serves as the commander's link for all matters concerning enlisted members. First Sergeants in the wing are highly organized to deal with many personnel issues and are responsible for detailed paperwork, administration, and providing sound advice to the commander on a wide range of topics, including the health, discipline, mentoring, well being, career progression, recognition and professional development of all 932nd Airlift Wing assigned enlisted members. Raymond Smith, presented a special wing coin to Airman First Class Megan Drone, who was spotlighted and told her background story during the pre-Unit Training Assembly meeting on August 3, 2018, at Scott Air Force Base. Airman Drone is a health service management specialist in the 932d Medical Group's Medical Squadron. She said, "I enjoy experiencing being in the military part time, while continuing my civilian career and family life, and having control of that balance while meeting so many wonderful people." Team work in action at 30,000 feet

The 932nd Airlift Wing’s Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron flew aboard a packed and busy medical practice training flight on July 22, 2018. They flew aboard a C-130 aircraft, provided by the 910th Airlift Wing. After taking off from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, 1st Lt. Liz Erdman, 932nd AES flight nurse, and Senior Master Sgt. Tonya Hupp, AES superintendent, listen to a "simulated patient" describing his injuries. Together, the Airmen aboard reviewed Air Force Instructions covering medical issues. A man of many engine talents

Ready to serve and keep the flying mission on track, Chief Master Sgt. John Davis knows jets and their engines. When Davis isn't at the 932nd Maintenance Group, helping train new reservists on C-40 jet engines, he is an assistant professor of aviation technology at Purdue University. The two positions complement each other. During his 15 years on active duty, Davis worked on engines powering F-4 Phantoms, F-15 Eagles, C-130s, and a variety of other Air Force aircraft while he was assigned to Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He was an instructor at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois for eight years and taught courses in airframe and power plant. Davis joined the Air Force in 1978 and said he plans to continue serving at the 932nd Maintenance Group as a traditional reservist. "I still love what I'm doing," he said. Recruiters support wing missions by keeping positions filled

The recruiters at the 932nd Airlift Wing help to fill vacancies in various wing jobs that support the flying mission, including maintainers and operations aircrew personnel. Seen here in front of the C-40C aircraft are Tech Sgt. Brittany Paus and Master Sgt. Dawn Williams, who visited the aircraft recently at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. They are part of a team of recruiters who provide counseling handling phone calls, enlistment paperwork, questions, and guidance. Paus is a United States Air Force Reserve Line Recruiter at the 932nd AW and Williams recruits medical people from the Saint Louis and Illinois region into the Air Force Reserve by day, and also coaches the 932nd Airlift Wing's volunteer volleyball team. Maintenance checks the plane before next flight

Two of the top ten Chicago Cubs fans in the unit spend a brief moment reminiscing about a World Series victory during a visit. Chaplain (Maj.)
