Senior NCO loves to teach, work on jet aircraft
Senior Master Sgt. John Davis knows jets and their engines. When Davis he isn't at the 932nd Maintenance Squadron helping train new reservists on jet engines, he is an assistant professor of aviation technology at Purdue University. During his 15-years on active duty, Davis has worked on engines powering F-4 Phantoms, F-15 Eagles, C-130s, and a variety of other Air Force aircraft while he was assigned to Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He was an instructor at the now-closed Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois for eight years and taught courses in airframe and powerplant. Davis joined the Air Force in 1978 and said he plans to continue serving at the 932nd MXS as a traditional reservist. "I still love what I'm doing," he said. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
