Shoe storm at the 932nd AW
Second Lt. Liz Wzalek is overwhelmed at the sheer number of shoes and boots that 932nd Airlift Wing members donated for the Shoeman Water Project. Gateway Wing members donated 597 pairs of lightly-used footwear during a two-month span. The Shoeman Water Project is a charity that collects donated shoes, exports the shoes to street vendors in locations like Kenya and Haiti. The funds are used to purchase water-purification kits for countries around the world. The 932nd AW HRDC sponsored the shoe drive which ended with the April UTA. Tech. Sgt. Viveka Ferrell assisted Wzalek in sorting and counting shoes. (U.S. Air Force photo/TSgt. Daniel Oliver)
