Preparing to shoot, move, communicate

Commander of the 932nd Airlift Wing, Col. Jonathan Philebaum, gets a situational awareness briefing from Master Sgt. Salvatore Urbano, with the 932nd Security Forces Squadron, before putting on his helmet of protection and moving deeper into the forest to execute the mission as part of a four person team The SFS squads spent a hot weekend in the woods shooting at targets, moving as a team, and performing low crawls during a portion of the combat physical exercise course. It was held during the July unit training assembly, July 9-10, 2016, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. SFS had members flip a tire, low crawl, run with fuel cans filled with water, perform a first aid fireman carry to lift and move a fellow Airman and then drag them a set distance, all while sprinting between stations. Company grade officer

Great work for a job well done all year! Capt. Elizabeth Wszalek, 932nd Force Support Squadron Manpower and Personnel Flight Chief, was named the 932nd Airlift Wing 2015 Company Grade Officer of the Year, but she was gone away, out of state to her military professional school during the actual annual awards ceremony. Colonel meets liberator

932nd Airlift Wing Director of Inspections, Lt. Col. Ralph DePalma holds the microphone and listens to Don Miller, one of the amazing World War II veterans who came to speak to the unit's professional development seminar on July 8, 2016. Miller served in the war aboard a B-24 "Liberator" aircraft. The B-24 was used extensively in World War II and it served in every branch of the American armed forces, as well as several Allied air forces and navies, and saw use in every theater of operations. Along with the B-17, the B-24 was the mainstay of the US strategic bombing campaign in the Western European theater. Due to its range, it proved useful in bombing operations in the Pacific. Donating to help others makes civilian happy

Chris Parr, a new 932nd Airlift Wing civilian employee, gives back to the community by donating his blood, which in turn saves at least three lives down the line. The American Red Cross is involved with the local USO in hosting a blood drive frequently on base from 1200 hours to 1700 hrs at various locations around base. This one was held last week in the 932nd Airlift Wing Auditorium. This is a great opportunity to help the supply system of blood nationwide and Mr. Parr enjoyed meeting the technicians and volunteers from the Saint Louis USO who brought food to workers.
