932nd Airlift Wing's Chaplain (Maj.) Howard Bell had the distinct honor of addressing the House of Representatives during the daily prayer in Washington D.C. on July 18th.
It's customary for House chaplains and guest chaplains to open legislative sessions with an Invocation on the Senate Floor.

Bell and his family met with Illinois Congressman John Shimkus w ho provided them with a tour of the Capitol and introduced the Chaplain to the assembly.

Bell explained what the experience was like by saying, " I gotta tell ya nothing's more humbling to stand in that spot where so much history has happened in our nation and be able to bless our leaders in that way."

932nd Airlift Wing commander Albert J. Lupenski expressed his thoughts about the Chaplain's opportunity, "the fact that he was able to do it, and represent the 932nd Airlift Wing and the command is great. How many Chaplains get to stand before Congress and say the opening prayer, very few."
