Civil engineers remember nation's military history during 26 mile march
On March 27, 2011, five members of the 932nd Civil Engineer Squadron participated in the 22nd Annual Bataan Memorial Death March. The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging 26.2 mile march through the high desert terrain of White Sands Missile Range, N.M., conducted in honor of the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II. They sacrificed their freedom, health and, in many cases, their very lives. Those marching the 26.2 miles experienced, in part, what Soldiers endured during their long-forced trek through the Philippines. The 932nd Civil Engineer Squadron members who participated were Chief Master Sgt. Norman Fink, Senior Master Sgt. Tom Eslinger, Master Sgt. Chris Tripp, Tech. Sgt. Allen Presser, and Staff Sgt. Justin Brown. (Photo submitted)
