Members of the 932nd Airlift Wing's Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron welcome back Colonel Cynthia Camp

During this month's unit training assembly members of the 932nd Airlift Wing's Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron welcomed back Colonel Cynthia Camp, one of the Medical Service Corps from a 4-month deployment. Camp served as Commander of the 455th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Bagram Airfield. This was Camp's seventh deployment and she said, "It was one of the most rewarding and wonderful things I've ever done." Camp said her crews would volunteer their free time supporting other squadrons and their missions, assisting and educating the various communities in the area both on base and off. "When my crews weren't flying I encouraged them to do things where they would make a difference and leave the place better then we found it. You can go home knowing you made a difference."

Members of the 932nd Airlift Wing's Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron return from temporary duty assingment

The 932nd Airlift Wing Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Flight Equipment Tech Sgt. Michelle Forrest of inspects the deployment gear of 1st. Lt. James Schweitzer and Maj. Carlton Abner. Schweitzer and Abner returned from their 4-month deployment at Travis Air Force Base this week. While at Travis the two were part of an Aeromedical Evacuation Crew that flew weekly, transporting soldiers who had been wounded in Afghanistan from DC to military installations in California for further treatment.

Citizen Airman Spotlight

Tech. Sgt. Sopheap Chan is a traditional reservist assigned to the 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. As an aeromedical evacuation journeyman, Chan is part of a team that prepares, loads and cares for patients during flight on a variety of military aircraft. He has been in the Air Force Reserve for nearly ten years and enjoys the challenges and rewards that is aeromedical evacuation. Like many reservists, Chan balances family life and a civilian career as well. He is employed as a chemical engineer for a St. Louis-based research and development firm. Colonel Kilmer savors 35 year career

Lt. Col. Wesley Kilmer, 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron commander, retired April 9, wrapping up a career that began in 1976. Colonel Kilmer spent six years enlisted before receiving his commission. He has held a number of positions in the Air Force Reserve aeromedical evacuation field, before becoming the 932nd AES commander. Tech. Sgt. Michael Stauth of the 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) was named NCO of the Year for the 932nd Airlift Wing. Sergeant Stauth recently completed his sixth active duty tour in support of OIF/OEF. He has accrued nearly 800 flight hours and 52 combat hours and 17 sorties.
