932nd Director of Inspections rides for fun, competition and freedom of the open road

Maj. Robert Atkins, takes a break during a recent cycling competition in Arizona. Atkins trains nearly every day and competes in about ten triathalons a year for fun and fitness. Atkins said he enjoyes the physical and mental challenges triathalons offer. A stand-out cyclist, Atkins previously was a member of the Air Force Cycling team. Wing commander speaks to racing fans

Col. Albert Lupenski, commander of the 932nd Airlift Wing, speaks to auto racing fans at an area speedway near Granite City, Ill. Lupenski spoke to the big crowd and was interviewed by track announcer Doug Jenkins just before the races began. The colonel was also there to cheer the Salty Dog race team, which proudly sports the Air Force Reserve logo on its hood. Deployed 932nd Airlift Wing members Master Sgt. Tony Loving and Lt. Col. Andrew Chancellor had a chance to meet several NFL players while overseas. "The United Service Organizations (USO) sponsored an NFL day at our location. There was a meet and greet followed by a punt pass and a kick competition. We were visited by Sam Bradford, quarterback for the Rams, James Laurinaitis, linebacker for the Rams; Seneca Wallace, quarterback for the Browns, and Rocky McIntosh, Washington Redskins linebacker, along with two Kansas City Chiefs cheerleaders. Two weeks ago I got to see the Lt. Dan Band, with Gary Sinese. That was an outstanding show.
