Scott AFB hosts 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony
U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Dee L. Mewbourne, U.S. Transportation Command deputy commander, left, and Belland Eric Belland, 375th Civil Engineer Squadron fire chief, right, lay a wreath at the base of the 375th Air Mobility Wing installation flag during the 9/11 Patriot Day event hosted at the Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Sept. 11, 2020. On that day in 2001, President George W. Bush stated, “Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices -- secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Solomon Cook)
