Plane standing by for launch

A 932nd Airlift Wing C-40C, sits ready for take-off on an overcast morning, March 2, 2019, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The 932nd AW is an Air Force Reserve Command unit in southern Illinois, flying four of the C-40C planes as part of 22nd Air Force. They support the nation's executive airlift operations. The 932nd Maintenance Group is responsible for maintaining the distinguished visitor airlift planes for worldwide service. The 932nd Airlift Wing is based near the towns of Belleville, Mascoutah, O'Fallon, and Shiloh. The 932nd Airlift Wing is the only reserve unit flying this unique mission under Air Force Reserve Command. Other major areas supporting the reserve unit are the 932nd Mission Support Group, 932nd Medical Group and the 932nd Operations Group.
