Honored to help get the race started
The mascot for Gateway Motorsports fist bumps with Col. Sharon Johnson before an IndyCar race recently in Illinois. As part of the event, 932nd Airlift Wing Maintenance Group commander, Col. Sharon Johnson, was recognized on stage with all the Indy drivers just before the start of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Aug. 25, 2018, at Gateway Motorsports Park, Madison, Illinois. Johnson was an honored VIP to help kick off the 2nd annual IndyCar race which was won by Will Power, who won the 248-lap race around the four-turn, 1.25-mile Gateway Motorsports Park oval paved track in Madison driving in his #12 Chevrolet by 1.3 seconds over second place finisher Alexander Rossi.
