Taking aim during weapons training
A citizen Airman with the 932nd Airlift Wing looks down M4 carbine iron sights as he prepares to fire rounds that will help determine the weapons accuracy Mar. 3, 2018, at the shooting range on Scott Air Force Base , Illinois. This process of firing initial rounds is used to "Zero" the weapon. Mechanically zeroing the weapon is only necessary when the weapon zero is questionable. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt.
