Fitness important to military readiness

At center, the 932nd Airlift Wing's highest ranking enlisted member, Command Chief Master Sgt. Chad Welch, smiles as he leads a group of Air Force Reserve Command reservists around the Scott Air Force Base track for a fitness run Oct. 14, 2017, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Pushups, situps, and the run are emphasized throughout the year, and encouraged with additional "fun" runs and practices on different drill weekends when time permits. The Chief's enthusiasm is another example of leading people by example and improving the unit. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lt. Col. Stan Paregien)
