Historical career from law enforcement to public affairs ends

Airmen of the 932nd Airlift Wing paid special final tributes to Master Sgt. Gerald Sonnenberg (far right) on the occasion of his retirement July 9, 2017, from the United States Air Force Reserve. The event included a Meritorious Service Medal for his recent history office service and 50 year history video, which ends culminating a very distinguished 31 year military career. 932nd Chief of Public Affairs, Lt. Col. Stan Paregien and 932nd Director of Staff, Lt. Col. Julie Novy, presented this historical shadow box, which encapsulates his three decades long career from law enforcement to public affairs to the history office. The whistle in the box represents law enforcement while the pen quill represents Sgt. Sonnenberg's writing skills in public affairs stories. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Christopher Parr)
