Encouraged to run

Senior Airman Joseph Shaffer, 932nd Maintenance Squadron C40-C crew chief, completes the 1.5 mile aerobic assessment of the Air Force fitness test March 3, 2017, at the Scott Air Force Base James Gym track. Captain Liz Wszalek, 932nd Force Support Squadron and a group leader for the Scott Health Promotions Running Clinic was there to cheer on Shaffer as he finished the run. Shaffer participated in the running clinic to improve his run time and was in Wszalek's group. "I went from a 13:40 to a 12:08 in less than 7 weeks and scored a 93% for my test," said Shaffer. Shaffer then added that although the clinic was challenging to start, it got easier and highly recommends it to anyone that wants to improve their run time. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
