Exodus gives opportunity for new Airman Basic

Airman Basic Nikyal Carter is taking time between Basic Military Training and Knowledge Operations technical school to lend a hand during the holidays in the mail room at the 932nd Airlift Wing, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Carter's hometown of O'Fallon is very near the base and works as a contractor with the Defense Information Systems Agency located at Scott. "Being home during exodus provided me the opportunity to see family over the holidays, it has been greatly appreciated," said Carter. "Initially I was upset that I would miss them, the holidays, while away for school, but then learned that I would be able to come home on leave and work at the Wing some as well," he said. Carter plans to enjoy New Years with friends and co-workers before heading back to school. (U.S. Air Force photo by Christopher Parr)
