Reenlistment is all in the family

Chief Master Sgt. John Davis knows airplanes and their engines. When Davis isn't at the 932nd Maintenance Group helping train or advise new reservists on C-40 jet engines, he is an assistant professor of aviation technology at Purdue University. During his 15 years on active duty, Davis worked on engines powering F-4 Phantoms, F-15 Eagles, C-130s, and a variety of other Air Force aircraft while he was assigned to Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He was an instructor at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois for eight years and taught courses in airframe and power plant. Davis joined the Air Force in 1978 and said he plans to continue serving at the 932nd Maintenance Group as a traditional reservist. "I still love what I'm doing," he said. The 932nd Airlift Wing's 932nd Maintenance Group keeps the C-40C aircraft ready to fly by constant attention to detail. Lt. Col. Stan Paregien, 932nd Chief of Public Affairs, congratulates one of the wing's newest recruits, Ryan Hill, after he recites the oath of enlistment. Hill is going into the medical area, following his enlistment into the 932nd Airlift Wing.
