Double dose donation
Capt. Christopher Kaighen, commander, 932nd Logistics Readiness Flight, donates a double dose of blood during the Red Cross blood drive, October 15, 2015, 932nd Airlift Wing headquarters building, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. At times of need for certain blood types, The Red Cross is able to do double red cell donations. A process similar to whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to allow the blood donor to safely donate two units of red blood cells with plasma and platelets returned to the donor.
