Bring new life to an old space

Tech. Sgt. Doug Hunter, aircraft electrician with the 932nd Airlift Wing Maintenance Group, adds fresh paint to an old space within the Maintenance Group headquarters, building 450, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., July 30, 2015. The month long project to renovate the large room into a auditorium for commander's calls and other briefings includes fresh paint, construction of a small stage, and some acoustic treatment to dampen sound. Before renovations began, the vacant space had been used as a parachute fabrication room when it was occupied by the 375th Maintenance Group. To keep the project's cost low, paint was obtained through the Self Help program and the labor was done by Hunter and Tech. Sgt. Chris Wagoner, a C-40C crew chief. Hunter obtained a lift from the 932nd AW Civil Engineer Squadron and the two used personal skills obtained through past jobs to perform the work. (U.S. Air Force photo/Christopher Parr)
