Some of the 932nd Airlift Wing's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team listens to the wing commander, Col. Jonathan Philebaum, talk about executing the EOD's difficult mission, and how he appreciated their work and the opportunity to spend time out in the field with them. The 932nd Airlift Wing's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team went above and beyond their normal drill weekend, starting early in the morning preparing highly specialized equipment and then pushing themselves through the summer heat and humidity, deep into the forest during a rainstorm at Scott Air Force Base, to get additional skills training. With rain soaking everyone's uniforms, and mud squishing beneath their boots, the EOD technicians stayed hidden, communicated to each other, searched with mine sweepers, and got down on the ground in the mud to meticulously identify and remove improvised explosive devices.
