Community thank you in action: The 932nd Airlift Wing made a visit to Belleville West High School on Feb. 8, 2018, to thank the "Maroon" marching band for attending and playing songs "live" at a recent deployer's send off event. Making her way quickly around the last lap of a recent 1.5 mile fitness test is Tech. Sgt. Stephanie Johnson, wearing the number three jersey, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. She scored a perfect 100 points on her overall fitness test and had some tips for others to improve in the future: "I run about 4 to 5 miles a day, Monday through Friday to include hills. I avoid sugar and sodas, and do eat a variety of foods like chicken, turkey, and lots of water, but occasionally enjoy a pizza and some ice cream!" She noted other areas to work on in the months leading up to testing are ABS, sit-ups, planks and push ups. This is Johnson's fourth time in a row to score a perfect 100. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lt. A special "jolly" guest popped up at the 932nd Airlift Wing late in the afternoon, with the sound of bells ringing on the first day of December, 2017. Santa Claus stopped by on Friday to make the rounds and talk with the highest ranking "kid" at the Illinois unit, 932nd Command Chief Master Sgt. Chad Welch. Chief Welch and Santa are planning a big day for all the Air Force Reserve Citizen Airmen deployers and their families on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. until noon in the hangar at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. There will be free food, games, a marching band, and holiday fun for the entire family. Santa Claus will visit the hangar at some surprise moment, so reservist's children can share their Christmas wish list with him potentially.
