932nd Airlift Wing members spent time on an off-UTA (Unit Training Assembly) weekend, working on improving the Illinois unit, and leading people through training, administrative details, and real world physical projects. The 932nd Maintenance Group moved higher on this lift to inspect the top of the C-40C on a warm day January 21, 2017, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. The 22nd Air Force unit is the only flying wing in the Air Force Reserve Command with the DV (Distinguished Visitor) mission, utilizing four of the unique C-40C aircraft to move the nation's leaders worldwide. A 932nd Airlift Wing C-40C is towed under the evening light of the supermoon, Nov. 14, 2016 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The best time to see the supermoon had been in the early morning hours on the 14th of November. Commander of the 932nd Operations Group, Lt. Col. Ray Smith looks ahead to the last unit training assembly of fiscal year 2016. Colonel Smith is in charge of all flying operations at the Air Force Reserve Command wing located at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. The 932nd Airlift Wing, organized under 22nd Air Force, flies the C-40C plane (model in background). The wing now has four C-40s in its inventory. The Air Force Reserve Command unit provides first-class, worldwide, safe, and reliable airlift for distinguished visitors and their staffs. The wing maintains aircraft for special assignment missions and equips, trains and organizes a ready force of Citizen Airmen to support and maintain all facets of air base operations involving infrastructure and security. The wing also provides worldwide medical services to the warfighter from the front line to the continental United States fixed medical treatment facilities. Colonel Smith sent off a group of his 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron members on a deployment recently and continues to train others for future opportunities worldwide. A 932nd Airlift Wing aircrew member helps pull his Airman into the raft as 932nd Operations Group pilots and aeromedical evacuation personnel trained in the rain during their last Unit Training Assembly weekend. The event to develop proficiency during stress took place at the base pool to accomplish required water survival skills. The program simulates a plane needing to crash land in a remote water location, and the crew must then take care of each other using first aid skills, along with swimming, surviving and building shelter with the limited tools provided.
