Motorcycle reminders and Safety Day coming April 14

932nd Maintenance Group commander, Col. James McDonnell, looks for oncoming traffice before engaging first gear. He reminds bikers and motorists alike to pay attention to their surroundings. "For the riders, give your bike a thorough inspection before firing up that engine for the first time in months. Inspect your personal protection equipment, too; maybe it is time to get new goggles and gloves. And please take it easy on those first few rides, while you get re-accustomed to your bike and knock the rust and cobwebs off your riding skills," he said. A base-wide Motorcycle Safety Day is April 14, and begins at 0900 with a Scott AFB Motorcycle Safety "All Call" for those who ride motorcycles in the Base Theater. After the All Call, the Motorcycle Safety Day afternoon events will continue at the pavilions next to ALS starting at 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The focus of the event is to promote motorcycle safety and rider awareness throughout Team Scott. All military, DOD civilian, contractor riders and anyone who is considering operating or purchasing a motorcycle are invited to participate. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj. Stan Paregien)
