Deployed 932nd CES member works on MAAS
Senior Airman Jason Senter, who is deployed from the 932nd Civil Engineer Squadron, Air Force Reserve, installs cable spacers on the mobile aircraft arresting system, (MAAS) during a two-week maintenance overhaul at an air base in Southwest Asia. Senter is assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. The MAAS is an emergency braking system for tail-hook-equipped aircraft. It is used in emergency situations when a fighter aircraft needs assistance coming to a full stop after landing. This occasionally occurs due to mechanical failures beyond the pilot's ability to correct prior to landing. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Patrick Mitchell)
