NCO off to OTS, flight school
Staff Sgt. Joseph Sobieralksi has plans to return to the 73rd Airlift Squadron in about 16 months as a second lieutenant and begin C-40C pilot certification. He is scheduled to attend the Air Force Officer Training School (OTS) starting next week. Following OTS, Sobieralski will begin undergraduate pilot training. For Sobieralski, having the opportunity to become a pilot and fly the C-40C is quite a career change. He has been a college instructor for several years and most recently, taught at a community college in southern Illinois. Sobieralski holds a masters and doctorate degree in economics. Prior to joining the 932nd Airlift Wing, he was a member of the Kentucky Air National Guard. The 932nd AW is the sole Air Force Reserve unit that flies the C-40C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
