I was mobilized with members from the 932nd Medical Group, Scott AFB, Illinois, to the Northeast.

Some of us were integrated into New York city hospitals while I and some others were forwarded to Stamford Health in CT with the Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force 811-1.

Civilians, Air Force, Army, National Guard, and Navy members collaborated to provide treatment for COVID 19 patients.

During my time at Stamford Health, we were able to play the song throughout the hospital "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles 181 times which signified the returned health and discharge of COVID 19 patients.

Caring for these patients was very rewarding and personal.  I was able to watch patients heal from a near vegetative state to walking, but was also honored with being their comfort and only human contact while they were leaving this world.

This experience really reminded me of why I became a nurse supporting my purpose for furthering my education and nursing career.

I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for our nation.
