Scott Air Force Base, Ill. -- Lt. Col. Chad Carter, assumed command of the 932nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron (AMDS) during an Assumption of Command ceremony at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, April 5, 2025.
Following the Assumption of Command, Chief Master Sgt. Gabrielle Clark assumed responsibility during a Change of Responsibility ceremony as the senior enlisted advisor for 932nd AMDS under the new commander.
Prior to assuming command of the 932nd AMDS, Carter was serving in the 932nd AMDS as the chief of flight medicine.
Col. Robert Garner, 932nd Medical Group commander, presided over the ceremony, expressing his appreciation for military call signs when speaking to Carter and his family, he told the oldest child his call sign would be “Torque” because he (Carter) was a hard charging dedicated crew chief as only an airman first class, which is impressive to achieve in aircraft maintenance careers.
Garner added that his would be “vision” because he can see the future of medicine and he believes his leadership skills will continue to lead the AMDS to great things.
Carter said he was excited about his new role despite having to travel across the country for drill, saying, “It is because of you guys, because of the people I work with. I never worked with or been around a better group of people."
"It would be way easier for me to go down the street to Buckley (Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado). There’s a reserve unit there and they need doc’s, but the people here are the best in the world and I am excited to come back here every month, because I enjoy what we are doing,” added Carter.
Following Carter's final remarks, Chief Master Sgt. Gabrielle Clark assumed responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor for 932nd AMDS under the new commander during a Change of Responsibility ceremony.
Clark directed her speech to her Airmen, saying, “I understand what it takes to be here and do this job every single day. Especially when you’re a section chief, or a supervisor, our job is to take care of our people. Officers and enlisted alike, we are a team!"
"That’s always going to be my focus and that's always going to be my dedication. My number one priority is to put our people first, and for me to take care of them,” she said.
