Scott Air Force Base, Ill. -- Col. Ruth Turner assumed command of the 932nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron during an assumption of command ceremony after being promoted to the rank of Colonel, at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Feb. 2, 2025.
Turner comes from the 932nd Medical Squadron, where she recently served as providing deployment counseling for 35 nurses.
Col. Robert Garner, 932nd Medical Group commander, presided over the ceremony, speaking about Turner‘s career saying, “Ruth Turner is the kind of person who volunteers during a global pandemic to go to ground zero in New York City on a 24 hours notice.”
“That is the kind of character she has,” added Garner.
“To the men and women of the 932nd Medical Squadron,” said Turner. “You guys are my heart and soul, thank you for all your support, and thank you for being here. I’m really sad to leave you all, but I’m really excited for this new adventure.”
