The 932nd Security Forces Squadron (SFS) recently led critical readiness training for Citizen Airmen of the 932nd Airlift Wing, with focus on preparing Mission Support Group (MSG) elements for a combined June Combat Readiness Exercise (CRE) and Expeditionary Air Base (XAB) certification event.

The June 2025 CRE will integrate the 932nd Airlift Wing (AW) and the 375th Air Mobility Wing (AMW) in validating their ability to operate effectively in contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environments, while reinforcing their ability to meet the demands of the Great Power Competition.

This large-scale, global rivalry requires forces to be adaptable, agile, and capable of responding to diverse challenges.

Through innovative, hands-on scenarios, the training emphasized "Shoot, Move, Communicate" tactics, mounted and un-mounted vehicle operations, and defensive strategies, allowing participants to develop confidence and hone combat skills.

“This was meant to be an event where Airmen had the ‘freedom to fail’ in an austere environment under controlled amounts of stress,” said Maj. Tyler Freeman, 932nd SFS commander. “Airmen need to train like they fight”.

This training aligns with the Scott Initiative for Combined Operations (SICO), introduced in October 2024 to optimize resource-sharing and event coordination across Scott Air Force Base.

Airman First Class Anastasia Latimer, 932nd SFS team member, highlighted the importance of teamwork, saying, “This training helped me realize how unique my job is. Security Forces is not a job just anyone can do.”

Latimer added that the training gave her the opportunity to become the trainer and share her knowledge.

By fostering cross-functional collaboration and preparing Airmen for dynamic scenarios, the 932nd AW underscores its commitment to readiness and mission success in the global security landscape.
