Command leaders look to enhance communication with an on-the-go force

Air Force Reserve Command leaders are looking to utilize mobile technology to enhance communications with Reserve Citizen Airmen and their families. 

Chief Master Sgt. Timothy C. White Jr., AFRC’s command chief master sergeant, said he is looking to use the Air Force Connect app to make communications with Reserve Citizen Airmen more timely.

“You spoke, we listened!” White said. “We understand the importance of timely, relevant information and I truly believe using the AF Connect app will get us one step closer to a more informed, better-connected Reserve.”

Air Force Connect was one of six ideas to compete in the finalist round of the 2018 Spark Tank competition. The app was released in 2019 Air Force-wide and is designed to offer Air Force organizations at all levels a platform to deliver timely and relevant information to Airmen, their families and members of the local community. 

To install the Air Force Connect app, simply visit your device’s app store and search for “Air Force Connect”, then follow these four easy steps to add AFRC to your favorites:

  1. Open the favorites tab in the lower right-hand corner
  2. Search for “Air Force Reserve Command”
  3. Click the add button
  4. Exit out of the favorites tab and swipe left from the USAF Connect home screen to navigate to the AFRC homepage  

To stay up to date on the most current information and events in the command, click the notifications tab on the AFRC homepage, and enable push notifications in your device’s app settings.

AF Connect users can “favorite” up to 10 organizations, and utilize functions such as the built-in physical fitness test calculator, phone directories, and access to Common Access Card-enabled sites like the Advanced Distance Learning System and the Defense Travel System using a mobile CAC reader.
