Santa makes his return this Unit Training Assembly weekend!

The big guy is back in town a little early to spend time with children of Air Force Reservists at the 932nd Airlift Wing.

It is an opportunity for the kids to step aboard the wing's newest aircraft.

The 932nd Operations Group, in conjunction with the 932nd Maintenance Group, has arranged for the children of members of the 932nd Airlift Wing to take a taxi ride aboard the C-9C aircraft with Santa on Sunday, 3 December 2006, at 1000.

Santa will be flying in on a C-9C to visit the kids and let the tiny tots take a short taxi ride up and down the ramp. The following is a rough estimate on how the Children's Santa Taxi ride will work. This is only open to the 932nd Airlift Wing.

Santa's helpers (the pilots) will not have a final estimate on the number of children until Saturday, December 2, (the day before the event). They will taxi as many times as it takes to accommodate the children (and the parents accompanying their kids).

All those participating are to meet at or near the maintenance break room in bldg 450 at 0945. Children (with parents if needed), will depart by a bus from the back of the building to the flight line.

Santa will meet the children at the bottom of the steps and escort them on the airplane. A quick taxi around the base will follow. Upon departing the aircraft, Santa and his assistant flight attendants will give them a candy cane or some candy of some kind.

The preference is to have no food or drink while the kids are on the aircraft, hence giving them the candy cane when exiting. As the plane returns to the parking spot, the bus will return with the next set of children/parents and return the 1st "honorary crew" back to bldg 450.

The wing will do this until all the folks have had a chance to take a taxi. Rather than provide refreshments to the entire Wing, the Operations Group would like to ask the individual squadrons to provide for their people after the event.

The plan is to have the same crew that flies the local, taxi the kids and Santa. We will also need flight attendants on board the aircraft to act as safety reps. It promises to be a great day for the children.

Please contact the executive office, with the number of children you have desiring to participate no later than 1200, 2 December. The number is needed to turn in a headcount to the ops group rep.

Happy holidays to all from the wing!
