Family Caving/Spelunking Exploration
Join Outdoor Recreation as we team up with certified caving instructors on a combined caving/spelunking exploration.  This is not a tour, but actual hands on spelunking. On this exploration, cavers can choose between the beginners route or take the challenging advanced route.  Scheduled several times throughout the year, you can explore the second largest cave in Illinois, wild Mammoth Cave, located just south of Waterloo.

Explorers will get wet and dirty while experiencing the natural beauty of this cavern. This natural cave features formations like stalactites, stalagmites, an underground stream and more.

This cave holds a constant temperature of 58 degrees Fahrenheit, and includes bats, salamanders, frogs, amphipods and other creatures (no dangerous species). Cost for the novice exploration is $32/person, and the advanced exploration is $36/person, which includes a certified guide, transportation, necessary equipment except batteries (bring 2 AA batteries) and any fees.

Participants must be at least 8 yrs. old and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
