Take part in our Rent-A-Lane special during the evenings and weekend. Family/Teen Talent Show - Still Have Openings! Showcase your talent in the upcoming 2007 Family/Teen Talent Contest on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2 p.m. at the Base Theater. We invite moms, dads, brothers, sisters and friends to sing, dance and perform together live on stage. Contestants can enter into various categories such as: parent & child, husband & wife; children (ages 3 to 5); children (ages 6 to 8); pre-teen solo (ages 9 to 12); pre-teen group (ages 9 to 12); teen solo (ages 13 to 15); teen group (ages 13 to 15); teen solo (ages 16 to 18); teen group (ages 16 to 18) and family. Each act will be videotaped. Winners from each category will be sent to compete in the Air Force level competition. Interested? Deadline to sign-up and selection of performance material is Friday, Nov. 23. Holiday Greeting Card Competition - Deadline Extended Calling all Squadrons and Units... There is still time to enter the 2007 Holiday Card Competition. Due to the holiday schedule and popular demand, Outdoor Recreation has extended the deadline to enter the base competition. Entries must now be ready by Friday, Nov. 30. You can win $300, $200 & $100 in the form of Services Bucks toward your units' holiday party. Cards will be displayed on Scott Drive. The first 25 squadrons/organizations to register will receive free supplies. Sign up now on the Services website www.375services.com. Vote for your favorite card on-line from Dec. 1 thru Dec. 7. Winning cards will be announced Monday, Dec. 10 on the Services web site. Show your Holiday and Team Spirit! Schlafly Night Come out to the Scott Club on Friday, Nov. 30 to enjoy Schlafly Night in the lounges. The party starts at 4:30 p.m., featuring awesome specials, cool giveaways and a special appearance by Tom Schlafly! Family Caving/Spelunking Exploration Join Outdoor Recreation as we team up with certified caving instructors on a combined caving/spelunking exploration on Saturday, Dec. 1. This is not a tour, but actual hands on spelunking. On this exploration, cavers can choose between the beginners route or take the challenging advanced route. Buses will depart at 8 a.m., returning around 3:30 p.m. that same day. Explore the second largest cave in Illinois, wild Mammoth Cave, located just south of Waterloo. Cost for the novice exploration is $32/person, and the advanced exploration is $36/person, which includes a certified guide, transportation, necessary equipment except batteries (bring 2 AA batteries) and any fees. Participants must be at least 8 yrs. old and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Don't delay...deadline to sign up is Nov. 27! Free Christmas Trees Join us on Dec. 6 between 4 and 6:30 p.m. at the Scott Club (Enlisted side parking lot) as we giveaway 500 Christmas trees and hot chocolate. The Trees for Troops Foundation donated these trees to Scott Air Force Base and the USO has donated the hot chocolate. These trees range from 5 ft to 7 ft and they will be given away first come, first served. This is open to everyone affiliated with Scott AFB!
