Scott AFB, Ill. --  Jump for joy...you have one extra day in February during "leap year" (today) to consider how busy the month of March will be and get involved.

Several services base activities are slated for March, including:

Mystery of Endurance ½ Marathon 

In observance of American Red Cross Month, the Fitness Center will be hosting their Mystery of Endurance ½ Marathon on Saturday, March 8 beginning at 7 a.m. The 13 mile Marathon will start and finish at the Fitness Center pool parking lot. Awards will be given to the first place male and female paid finishers along with random prize drawings for all additional paid participants. Entry fee is $8 and includes a short sleeve t-shirt. 

There is no deadline to sign up prior to race day, however...to be guaranteed a t-shirt on race day, you must have signed up by March 5. 

A minimum of 25 participants are needed prior to noon Friday, March 7. All active duty, Reserve, Air National Guard, dependents (age 18 years and older), retirees and DOD civilians are eligible to participate.

7 Habits for Teens - Still have openings!

The Teen Center is offering another 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens on Monday, March 3, Casmir Pulaski Day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested teens should call the Teen Center.

Kids Klub

Parents bring your children to the Scott Club on Monday, March 3 at 5 p.m. to enjoy a St. Patrick's Day Kids Klub. Everyone can enjoy a great meal and have fun at our St. Patrick's Day themed event. Parents sit back and relax while the kids play games, create art projects, color, and dance to the music. Members pay $6.95 and kids 12 & under are free. Non-members pay $8.95, and non-member children 12 & under are $2.95.

T-Ball, Baseball & Softball Registration
Youth interested in playing T-Ball, Baseball or Softball can register at the Scott Youth Center March 1 - 31, 2008. Ages range from 5-17 years old. The cost is $45 for members and $80 for non-members. Annual membership is $35. A current physical must be on file at the time of registration. Coaches needed, please sign up at the Youth Center.

Night Hoops at the Teen Center

Teens ages 13-18, sign-up at the Teen Center March 1 - 31 to register to play some Night Hoops! Games will begin April 30. Coaches are needed. Teams will be co-ed so everyone can enjoy and it is FREE to play! For more details, call the Teen Center.

Family Reading Night
"Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!" Come meet Cat in the Hat, share some great Suess stories, refreshments, door prizes and lots of fun on Thursday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library.

St. Patrick's Golf Tournament

Cardinal Creek will be hosting their St. Patrick's Golf Tournament on Saturday, March 8. This tournament is a three-player scramble with a shotgun start at noon. Fee is $40 per person or $25 per person for annual fee payers. Fee includes green fees, cart, range balls, food, beverages and prizes. For more information, call the Cardinal Creek Golf Course.
