In addition to the next unit training assembly on June 7-8, there are several base events coming up soon that Air Force Reserve members and families can enjoy:

Round Robin 4 Player Scramble 

Come on out to the Cardinal Creek Golf Course and participate in the 4 person round robin scramble! Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 31 with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The format of play includes a 6 holes scramble & 6 holes two person alternate shot and 6 holes best ball. Have a chance to win a pair of Brooks & Dunn concert tickets.  Check with the golf course about registration.

Swim Lessons

Register today for swim lessons. Cost is $40/person. Swimmers will be evaluated at the first lesson and placed in the proper lesson level, ages 5 to adult or parent/child classes for children under 5 years old. The First Session of swimming lessons will be held June 16 - June 27, the Second Session is from July 7 - July 18, and the Final Session will be July 28 - Aug. 8. All classes must have a minimum of six students for lessons to be held. Get In the Game: READ!

Adventures await those who participate in the Base Library's Summer Reading Program: "Get In The Game: READ!" Registration begins at the library on Monday, June 2nd. Preschoolers and students through grade 12 can win incentives as they read through the summer. Keep those reading skills sharp while having fun! Our program kickoff will be at Rockwell Hall on Thursday, June 5th at 10:30 a.m. with professional magician Chris Egelston. Many other fun events and special visitors are planned throughout June and July. Be sure to register early and start reading - reading log and summer event schedule will be available at the library when you register.

In conjunction with the Summer Reading Program, the Library will be holding special events. Professional Magician Chris Egelston will perform on Thursday, June 5 at 10:30 in Rockwell Hall. Meet "Izzy", mascot of the Gateway Grizzlies Baseball team on June 18, 10:30 in the library. A professional variety show, "Babaloo" (music and lots of fun) will take place on Thursday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. in Rockwell Hall. Storytimes, music, crafts and fun scheduled daily. Introduction to Aviation Class

The Aero Club will hold an Introduction to Aviation Class June 7 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class covers the basic terms of flying and current regulations. Fee is $15 per person. A minimum of 7 sign ups are required to run the class. Must sign up NLT 7 days prior to scheduled class date.
