SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  Sign up at Outdoor Recreation to sell items at the next Base Wide Yard Sale on August 16, 8 a.m. to noon, ALS Pavilion area. The cost is $10 which includes one table, two chairs and an area to display items. 

Deadline for sign ups is at noon August 15. Reservations can be made over the phone or in person. Full refunds are given with a 48 hour cancellation notification or if the staff cancels the sale. For more information contact Outdoor Recreation.

Free Craft Demos this Saturday at the BX

Join guitar instructor Roger Drinnon, quilting instructor Anne Peck, and leather craft instructor Galo Garcia this Saturday, August 16 in the BX lobby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for free demonstrations. Watch and listen to these talented instructors and ask questions about their classes. Visit the Arts & Crafts Center.

Back to School Brunch

Join the Scott Club for their Back to School Brunch on Sunday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Club member children 12 & under will eat for FREE! Club members over the age of 12 will pay the adult price of $15.95. Non-member children ages 5 to 12 will pay $8.95 and ages 4 and under are free. Reservations are highly recommended. 

Caving/Spelunking Exploration - sign up deadline is August 15!
Join Outdoor Recreation as we team up with certified caving instructors on a caving/spelunking exploration on Saturday, August 23. This is not a tour, but actual hands on spelunking. 

Buses will depart at 8 a.m., returning around 4 p.m. that same day. Explore the second largest cave in Illinois, wild Mammoth Cave. 

Cost for this exploration is $36/person, which includes a certified guide, transportation, necessary equipment except batteries (bring 2 AA batteries) and any fees. 

For the more adventurous types, if you have 8 - 10 people who would like to be more rugged than the basic program, let us know in advance, the guides will gladly accommodate. Don't delay...deadline to sign up is August 15!  To register visit  Outdoor Recreation.

It's time---register now for the 2008 Scott Art and Craft Show. You can get entry information and submit entries by visiting the base and pick up an entry form from the Arts and Crafts Center, the Base Library or the Youth Center. The entry deadline is October 4, this year's show dates are October 20-25.
