Chance to help at Thanksgiving Published Oct. 28, 2008 By Master Sgt. Deb Teague SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE -- I have 18 families in need of Thanksgiving Baskets and 1 single Airman that maybe would welcome a chance to have Thanksgiving dinner with someone. Thus far, I have 7 volunteers. If anyone can provide a Thanksgiving basket by the UTA, I would certainly appreciate it. If you can't manage an entire basket but would like to donate, I will accept cash or food item donations to assist with the baskets. I have attached a sample basket list; you don't have to get everything on the list, this is just a sample. I would like to be able to give out the baskets after Commander's Call on Sunday of the November UTA. These same families could use some help over the Christmas holiday as well. If you are in a position to adopt a family (or a member of a family), please let me know and I will match you up. Thanks for all of your support, Airman & Family Readiness Center Medium Basket 1 11-15 lb turkey (frozen) 5 lb potatoes oranges or apples or combination 1 jug apple cider or juice 1 package dinner rolls 2 packages stuffing 1 can cranberry sauce 2 cans applesauce 2 boxes jello 2 cans fruit 2 cans green beans 2 cans corn 2 cans yams 1 box cake mix 1 can frosting Large Basket 1 16-20 lb turkey (frozen) 10 lb potatoes oranges or apples or combination 1 jug apple cider or juice 2 package dinner rolls 3 packages stuffing 2 cans cranberry sauce 2 cans applesauce 2 boxes jello 2 cans fruit 3 cans green beans 3 cans corn 3 cans yams 1 box cake mix 1 can frosting
