Parade was great event Published Jan. 1, 2009 By Tech. Sgt. Gerald Sonnenberg SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Cool temperatures greeted 24-members of the 932nd Airlift Wing participating in the Veteran's Day parade throughout downtown St. Louis Nov. 8. The 932nd was the third unit in the parade, bringing the crowd to its feet, along with cheers, salutes, and hands over hearts. For many first-time parade volunteers, it was also a time to remember. "Marching in the parade makes me happy," said Senior Airman Emily Mormino. "It brings pride to me and my parents." For one volunteer, it was her last parade to march in and call cadence as a member of the Wing. According to Tech. Sgt. Adrienne Palmer, she has marched in every parade the 932nd has participated in, save one, since 1993. "It's an honor to show respect for the uniform with my fellow Airmen. I'm proud when people watching respect the flag as we go by. I'll miss it very much."
