The smiles say it all when our nation honors its veterans, especially near the Veterans Day timeframe of the year. On Saturday, November 12, 2016, several volunteers from the wing went out to assist welcoming home previous WW II and Korean War veterans from their trip to Washington D.C. Many of these men and women never had the chance to see the national memorials that were built in their honor. The Saint Louis Honor Flight helps local American heroes get this opportunity. These veterans are flown to Washington D.C. for one day to see the WWII Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and “The Changing of the Guard” at Arlington National Cemetery. Seen here are Lt. Col. Stan Paregien, PA; Senior Airman Maria Tremblay, 932nd Operations Group; Korean War veteran Dwight Johnson, and Capt. Elizabeth Wszalek, 932nd Force Support Squadron Manpower and Personnel Flight Chief. Not pictured but helping with check in is Senior Master Sgt. Barb Woodruff, the 932nd Yellow Ribbon Coordinator.
