Airman celebrates Women's History Month
Today's 932nd Airlift Wing Women's History Month focus is Senior Airman April Richardson, an emergency medical technician in the 932nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (seen here practicing life saving skill on a simulate child patient). She had grandparents that served in the military and now she is carrying on that tradition of service, but as the first female in her family to do so. The reason I joined was because I had always wanted to do it. I think the hardest training I went through mentally was in Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base and the medical Technical School, due to the fact I had to be away from my son for so long, she said. Richardson said she loves her unit and enjoys the chance to serve people, follow the service examples of other military women, and take care of patients while flying with the 932nd Airlift Wing.
