The 932nd Airlift Wing welcomed eighth grade Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) students for a visit. At right, Senior Airman Alex Jenkins, 932nd Maintenance Group, speaks to local students about how an airplane engine, wheels, tires, hydraulics and wings work to get a plane off the ground. He manned an informational station as students rotated from Mascoutah Schools to learn more about science and engineering Dec. 10, 2018, at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. The Air Force recognizes there is a critical need for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) talent for future technology and innovation efforts within our nation’s STEM workforce. The 932nd Airlift Wing flies and maintains four of the C-40 aircraft seen in the background near Belleville, Illinois. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lt. Col. Stan Paregien)
