Illinois wing's Boss Day thanks employers

Senior Master Sgt. Todd Wadkins, 932nd Maintenance Group, welcomed his employer and other bosses at the 2018 Boss Day held October 13, 2018 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Reservists are reminded there are two ways they can recognize a civilian supervisor or employer for his/her support of reservist's military service: 1) The Patriot Award – This award recognizes supervisors and bosses nominated by a Guardsman or Reservist employee for support provided directly to the nominator. It is all accomplished easily online at this site: https://www.esgr.mil/Employer-Awards/Patriot-Award/Form 2) Another possible award is the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award – This award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Each year, Guard and Reserve employees, or a family member acting on their behalf, have the opportunity to nominate their employer for the Employer Support Freedom Award. Nominate your employer during nomination season (October 1-December 31 each year) by logging on to www.FreedomAward.mil and clicking Nominate Employer at the top of the page.
