SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award is the U.S. Government's highest recognition for a civilian employer's outstanding support to their employees in the Reserve or National Guard. Honorees are nominated by members of the Reserve Component who are employed by the organization or the families of those service members.
The 2021 nomination season for this award opened 1 October and runs through 31 December. The support civilian employers provide enable Air Force Reserve Command's success. COVID-19 made 2021 another difficult year for civilian employers. Despite this, many have maintained their steadfast support to you, our Reserve Citizen Airmen.
If your employer provided exceptional support for your military service, this is an opportunity for you to recognize, thank, and honor them. When you complete your nomination, be sure to tell the story of how your employer supports you. Providing a detailed and engaging submission will demonstrate that they are deserving of this prestigious award.
