This year marks the 100th anniversary of "Armistice Day," which was first observed on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1938, Nov. 11 became a national holiday, and in 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday to Veterans Day.

This year marks the 36 consecutive year for the St. Louis Veterans Day parade and Citizen Airmen from the 932nd Airlift Wing, with friends and family, were there to walk in the parade and honor all veterans.
