Enlistment during Career and Diversity Day shows off unit to family

First time enlistment welcomes new recruiter to 932nd Airlift Wing. Patriotism...some wave a flag, some join the military, and some in many families support those who do both. These moments in life are extra special when a person raises their right hand and agrees to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and a family can come along for the historical moment. Here, 932nd Airlift Wing Chief of Public Affairs, Lt. Col. Stan Paregien stands before the American flag immediately following the oath of enlistment for Chloe Mitchell, at center in white shirt, who enlisted into the United States Air Force Reserve at a ceremony on Scott Air Force Base, Illinois as members of her family witnessed. The ceremony took place November 4, 2018, in the 932nd AW hangar one maintenance area next to a C-40 plane. The 932nd Career and Diversity Day was underway and the family then got a chance to walk around to various career booths. The enlistment was facilitated by the background work of recruiter Staff Sgt. Jennifer Deimund, at far right. This was her first finalized completed enlistment as a brand new recruiter. "It was really cool to see Chloe so motivated through the process. It was fulfilling for me to work the recruiting process from cradle to grave and see a bright future and the beginning of Mitchell's career. It involved constant contact, setting up calls and ASVAB tests, and physical. I enjoyed seeing Chloe and her family's excitement," said Deimund. Sergeant Deimund is responsible for central Illinois and northeastern Missouri primarily. For others interested in joining they can contact the recruiting office at (618)-910-1295 or (618)-229-7077 or toll free nationwide at 1-800-257-1212. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt.
